Size/Age: 2-year grafted tree, 18-24 inches tall

USDA Growing Zones: Zones 5-8

Our grafted Pawpaw trees represent a significant upgrade from seedling pawpaws, offering consistent fruit quality and earlier production. These trees have been carefully grafted onto high quality rootstock to ensure that even if something happens to the graft, 20 years down the road, that the rootstock is still of high quality and worth growing.

We have a wide variety of grafted selections which you can read about HERE!

Benefits for Wildlife/Hunters:

  • Fruit worth eating yourself, or gifted to the deer in your stead.

  • Larger, more consistent fruit crops attract more wildlife

  • Creates predictable food sources for setting up hunting locations

  • Known genetics ensure reliable performance

Planting Instructions: Pawpaws naturally grow as understory trees along forest edges, but 2+ year old trees can be planted in full sun. Orchard spacing is 8-10 ft apart with 15ft between rows. We find protection from wind in early years really helps in establishment so protect with a tree tube.

Care Requirements: Water regularly during establishment. Prefers rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Apply mulch to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Shipping Notes: Grafted trees are shipped in a container with soil to protect root system. These valuable grafted trees require prompt planting and initial protection from extreme conditions. ONLY SHIPPED AFTER GREEN GROWTH for the season, May-June.
